The Activist Photographs of Dana Schuerholz

For First Friday in December, photographer Dana Schuerholz will present images of her work and discuss her activism as a member of AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP).

In the 1980s–1990s, women took to the streets with their gay brothers, worked behind the scenes, and often served as caregivers. Schuerholz was on the front line, documenting the movement as it unfolded.
