History Worth Hearing

History Worth Hearing is our new radio show broadcasted in partnership with the Voice of Vashon, KVSH, 101.9 FM. On the first Friday of every month, at 3:00 pm, producer, host, and island humorist Chris Austin will interview exhibit curators, hear stories from local island history buffs, administer a trivia quiz, and read excerpts from historical newspapers. A rotating cast of co-hosts will help with presenting duties, bringing Vashon stories to listeners in a new and relaxed way.

Says Chris: “We also want the show to be a dialogue with the community. We want to know what Islanders are interested in learning about Vashon and Maury Islands, and we want Islanders to know about the many stories with which they may not be familiar.”

Listeners can email questions and comments to the radio show at radio@vashonheritage.org.

History Worth Hearing will air on the first Friday of each month, at 3:00 pm. An encore will be broadcast the following Friday, at 3:00 pm.
