We all work together to preserve our Island’s unique heritage. There are numerous ways you can offer your skills...

From the first peoples to present day newcomers, we all impact the islands economic, natural, and cultural history, and by volunteering time at the museum, we ensure that future generations enjoy the legacy we leave behind. It is the the work of volunteers - who create exhibits, catalog and preserve the collections, provide educational programs for school groups, greet and inform visitors, manage the business end of running a non-profit - that keeps our doors open.

And we need your help.


Ways to Volunteer

The museum has open volunteer positions in a wide variety of departments, and in exchange for training in a specific department we ask for a commitment of one year. The museum has several training options in place including workshops and individual mentoring from experienced volunteers. Here are some examples of the positions open:
