For one day only, the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Association brings The Virginia V back to her home waters. Once operating among a network of vessels serving the islands 32 docks, this historic ship returns for a single narrated circumnavigation cruise around Vashon and Maury islands.
There’s nothing like cruising around the island in a genuine Mosquito Fleet steamer. The Virgina V is the last of these iconic Puget Sound passenger boats with working steam engine. Relive the experience passengers had before there were roads on the island – and before the first car ferry docked at Portage. In the late 1800’s these boats steamed to docks at small communities scattered around the island, bringing mail, supplies, livestock and people.
