Speaker Series: Vashon Town

VASHON TOWN

FRIDAY, MAY 1ST

1:00PM
ZOOM MEETING
FREE

Vashon-Maury Islands are unique among Puget Sound islands, in that most islands have a seaside town or port as their commercial center, while Vashon has a landlocked main town. Join us to learn how and why the island’s business center developed over the years from the 1890's into the central town of today.

Brian Brenno is a fourth- generation islander who grew up hearing stories about Vashon from his father and grandfather, both business owners in the Town of Vashon. He is the author of the recently released book, “Town of Vashon, 1890-1960”, past president of the Vashon Heritage Museum, a co-curator of the 2011 exhibit Main Street Vashon, a Vashon history buff and the owner of Brian Brenno Glass.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
